Responsibilities include:
- Negotiate new contracts for purchasing various metals for products.
- Develop a supplier strategy for new product development at inception.
- Evaluate sourcing recommendations.
Further responsibilities for the Category Manager:
- Work directly with new product development to get an understanding of new materials to be purchased
- Identify and qualify new suppliers on commercial and technical capabilities
- Find solutions for profitability in process improvement, reduction of the quantity of raw materials waste
To be considered for this position, a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Materials is required, and ISM Certification is a huge plus.
