As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and motivated Construction Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates in Construction, Civil, or Chemical Engineering who are looking to kickstart their careers in the construction industry.
Job Description: As a Construction Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of our construction projects. You will be primarily responsible for performing construction engineering technician services related to earthwork, concrete, asphalt, and utility construction for our diverse client base, which includes DOT, municipalities, and private sector projects. Your work will involve material testing on construction sites and ensuring compliance with project specifications and contract documents.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and report on specific aspects of construction works in progress, including concrete pours, rebar placement, and pipe replacements.
- Conduct inspection and sampling of construction materials to maintain high-quality standards.
- Assist engineers during soil and materials investigations in the field.
- Perform computations, plot data, and draw simple curves and graphs to support project analysis.
- Conduct job site tests/observations, including quality control, quality assurance, and verifications in accordance with standard methods and project specifications.
- Conduct lab testing and observation of soils, concrete, and asphalt as required.
- Ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans, and proposals for roadway work, roadway, and pavement.
- Verify plan quantities and calculations as per bid plans.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project records and reports.
- Communicate any non-conforming work to the Contractor or Project Engineer promptly.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Chemical Engineering (Recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
- Knowledge of construction materials and testing methods is an advantage.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to operate a company truck for on-site visits.
