Regulatory Compliance Specialist
A growing manufacturer of specialty chemical products is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join its Environmental, Health & Safety team. This position is ideal for someone with experience supporting chemical regulatory compliance who enjoys working with technical documentation, product data, and cross-functional teams.
This role plays an important part in ensuring products and documentation meet applicable regulatory requirements while supporting ongoing compliance initiatives across a diverse product portfolio. There is also room for long-term growth into broader regulatory and EH&S responsibilities.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, review, and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and other regulatory documentation.
- Develop and manage product compliance documents, including technical and ingredient-related information.
- Review product labels and packaging content to ensure regulatory accuracy and consistency.
- Research and interpret federal, state, and industry regulations affecting chemical products.
- Evaluate raw materials and finished products for regulatory compliance and customer requirements.
- Maintain compliance databases and document control systems with a high level of accuracy.
- Support hazardous materials classification and shipping documentation.
- Respond to customer and internal requests for regulatory information and product documentation.
- Collaborate with operations, quality, and EH&S teams to support compliance initiatives.
- Stay current on changing regulations and industry standards through ongoing training and professional development.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related technical field preferred.
- 2+ years of regulatory compliance experience within chemical manufacturing or a related industry.
- Experience preparing or managing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and regulatory documentation.
- Working knowledge of regulations such as OSHA Hazard Communication, EPA, DOT, TSCA, REACH, Proposition 65, GHS, or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with aerosol products or consumer chemical products is a plus.
- Strong written communication, proofreading, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and large volumes of technical information.
