GEE Group is hiring a skilled Cost Accountant to support a well-established manufacturing partner. This isn’t just a back-office role—it’s embedded in operations, partnering closely with plant teams to ensure financial accuracy, drive performance insights, and keep production costs in check.
What you’ll do:
- Reconcile key general ledger accounts: inventory, WIP, COGS
- Analyze plant-level expenses and report budget/forecast variances
- Monitor manufacturing variances: labor, material, overhead, production
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain to identify cost drivers
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and support month/year-end close
- Lead cycle and physical inventory counts; resolve discrepancies
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and capital project tracking
- Support internal/external audits and asset management efforts
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting
- Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and GAAP
- ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with large data sets
- High attention to detail, strong analytical mindset, and a process-driven approach
